Instructor Support Update – 24^th July

Enquiry Demand and Price Promotion
I’m delighted to report the level of pupil enquiries has remained at record levels throughout July.

As mentioned in an earlier Instructor Support Update; we continue to review our price promotions (both the “2 hours, 50% off the first lesson” and optional “5 for £99”) to best take advantage of the demand relative to alternatives in the market.

The Bookings Team are doing a fantastic job in fielding the calls and web enquiries and converting those with definite interest into a paid driving lesson booking, and a subsequent introduction to our Instructors. The current price promotion is already proving an effective sales tactic to persuade an undecided customer into making a paid booking with Bill Plant Driving School.

Thank you for the continued feedback received so far on the re-start, marketing activity and the new booking process. We will provide a fuller update in August with analysis of the new activity and various immediate enhancements made.

Theory test certificates will not be extended
Yesterday, the DVSA announced that it is not possible to grant an extension to theory test certificates which have expired during the COVID-19 crisis.

Reasons stated include fears over the road safety issue of allowing pupils whose theory knowledge could be over two years out of date to sit a practical test. Other challenges cited include the need to change regulation in order to achieve an extension and a lack of ministerial appetite to seek such regulatory changes at this time.
