Instructor Support Update – 26th February

Instructor Support Update – 26th February

Provisional 12th April Restart
As stated on Monday, with the UK Government’s easing of lockdown we will therefore plan for driving lessons and driving instructor training to resume on 12th April. We all look forward to getting back to work properly!

No Extensions on Expiring “Lockdown Theory Certificates”
This week the DVSA has confirmed the government has decided not to extend the validity period of theory test certificates for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

After careful consideration and in response to a recent petition the government has decided not to extend theory test certificates for road safety reasons.

Check GOV.UK for the latest information about theory tests.

Additional Restrictions Grant
As a reminder from our 22nd January Instructor Support Update, after the latest national lockdown (January) the UK Government has provided local councils with discretionary funding that can be accessed following an application process.

We are aware of our Instructors receiving a grant of up to £2,000 via this scheme.
