Training courses offered by us

While our courses differ in intensity, they all follow the same content and will result in ADI certification if completed successfully.

Whether you have an automatic licence or a manual one, we can accommodate you – our training vehicles are available in either transmission.

Standard Intensive Training Course

The following three parts will make up your Standard Intensive Training Course for learner driving instructors in Leeds:

• Theory: This section needs to be completed in your own time, using the materials provided. It will be followed by a theory test.
• Driving Ability Practical: Your driving ability will be tested and trained through ten hours of in-vehicle driving instructor training, where experienced instructors will accompany you. The training takes part over two days, followed by a test.
• Instructional Ability Practical: Through 40 hours of expert vehicle training spread over five days, you’ll be taught all you need to know about becoming a driving instructor. Our quality driving instructors will be in the vehicle with you and provide the driving instructor training. Once you have completed this part, you’ll need to do your final test.

Completing all three training sessions and passing all three tests will enable you to become a qualified ADI (Approved Driving Instructor).

This training course is available nationwide, in most main centres.

Residential Intensive Training Course

Paced the same as the Standard Intensive Training Course, the residential version is held at our head office in Ripon, North Yorkshire. It includes 5 nights’ accommodation and training by our Head Office driving instructor trainers.

Flexible Course

A flexible course is a good option if you have a busy schedule or cannot take time away from the family or work. It covers all the same content as the intensive courses but can be completed at your own pace. It is also a good option for those who want to become a driving instructor in their home region.

PDI training programme

To assist our trainee driving instructors in improving their skills and gaining experience, you can take the PDI (potential driving instructor) programme. We want to ensure each trainee receives the best education and passes their test successfully to become a certified ADI.

Through this programme, our trainee instructors will have the opportunity to gain vital experience by taking 20+ hours of driving lessons before attempting their final test.
