Training courses offered by us
All our courses cover the same content and will result in the same ADI qualification once completed successfully. We have three different course options that vary in intensity.
Training can be done in either manual transmission or automatic vehicles, depending on your preference and licence.
Our standard intensive course comprises three parts:
- Part 1: A theory section to be completed in your own time. Once you have worked through all the material, you’ll need to complete a theory test.
- Part 2: The 1st practical session focuses on your driving ability. This section involves 10 hours of in-vehicle driving instructor training with experienced instructors spread over two days. Once you have completed the 10 hours of training, you must pass a practical test.
- Part 3: The 2nd practical session focuses on your instructional ability and involves 42 hours of in-vehicle training spread over five days. Following this, you’ll have your final test. You can opt to take part in extra practice before attempting the test through the PDI programme, which is recommended.
You’ll become a qualified ADI (approved driving instructor) upon passing this test.
The Standard Intensive Training Course is available in many main centres nationwide.
Held at our head office in Ripon, North Yorkshire, this course is almost identical to the Standard Intensive Course, the key differences are that it includes local accommodation and training provided by our Head Office trainers.
The flexible course covers all the same content as the two intensive courses but can be done at your own pace. This course is the ideal option for those training while still working full time or for those with families. It is also perfect for those who want to help students learn to drive in their particular region.
