Whether you’re a new driver having recently passed your test with Bill Plant driving school or an experienced driver wishing to improve to your skills you will find skid control training can prove invaluable when it comes to dealing with that unexpected incident which may be just around the next corner.

95% of all accidents involve some degree of skidding.

Your experience will last for approximately one hour with 20 minutes personal driving time The length of the driving time is an approximate time and should be used as a guide only. Please arrive 20 minutes before your start time. You will share your car with one other participant.

Your training will commence with a briefing, followed by a demonstration from the trainer. After that it’s over to you! Don’t worry! Your safety is paramount. The whole point of skid training is to allow you to gain experience in a controlled environment of something which would be dangerous, even lethal on the open road.

Remember – your trainer is there for you from start to finish.

The syllabus covers most skid-pan applications:

Why do skids happen and when do they occur?
Skid correction/avoidance
Skid Theory
Emergency Braking and ABS
Oversteer and Understeer
Front and Rear wheel drive
Cadence Braking
How the car reacts when skidding/vehicular forces

At the end of your session you will be presented with a certificate of achievement.

Please note In order to participate in the ultimate skid experience you must hold a full EU driving licence. Min/Max height: 5’0”/6’4” and max weight of 18 stone. (This experience operates Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the year (Weather permitting).

Once you have passed your driving test, you could experience a special new driver skid control experience for FREE.

Course Duration - Total time approx 30mins: 10 minute briefing 10 minutes driving time (each driver) you will share your car with one other participant. The length of the driving time is an approximate time and should be used as a guide only.

New drivers must have passed there driving test with Bill Plant Ltd
The experience is approximately 30 minute duration with 2 new drivers per car to 1 instructor
Offer is limited to 1 voucher per new driver
The issued voucher is valid for 3 months after the date the new driver passed his/her driving test
Voucher is not transferable or redeemable for cash
Voucher can only be submitted with the password issued by your instructor at the time of passing your driving test
Skid car experience can only be undertaken at our Yorkshire Skid Training Area

We strongly recommend that new drivers upgrade to a full ultimate skid experience at an additional cost of only £25.
