Eyesight Test Simulator

At the Bill Plant School of Motoring we aim to provide you with all of the material you need as a learner driver to help you prepare for and pass your driving test.
This eyesight test simulator should give you an idea of what is expected of you when you take the practical part of your driving test, and will furnish you with the information you require.
Your eyesight must be at a standard that allows you, the driver, to correctly read in good daylight a vehicle number plate from 20.5 metres away.
The examiner will ask you to read a number plate from a car most likely outside the test centre before he or she will allow you to take the driving seat in the vehicle you are to take your practical driving test in.
If you wear corrective lenses either as a pair of spectacles or as contact lenses, these should be worn throughout the duration of your practical driving test - wearing the corrective lenses during the reading of the number plate is perfectly acceptable, as you will be wearing your corrective lenses during your driving test.

Please note that whilst every effort has been made to make the Eyesight Test Simulator as accurate as possible, it is not a substitute for the eyesight test that will be carried out during your practical driving test.
If you have any issues or doubts about your eyesight, please get your sight tested by an optician and follow the instructions given by the optician should they inform you that corrective lenses are required, before continuing or learning to drive.
We are aware of technical issues with this page and we are currently tackling the problem. The image appears off scale to users of Safari & Internet Explorer.
